Hospitality

When we moved into the new building in 2004, we, as a church, wanted the local community to use and feel at home in our premises. A very important part of that outreach programme was the introduction of a café, and this has been going strong ever since.  Although we are not looking to make a profit, income does mount up, and we have been able to contribute positively to a few projects within the church.

“The Eatery” is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 11am to 2pm, when we serve home baking, homemade soup and freshly cooked light lunches in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The café, which is run by volunteers, is open most of the year, closing only for school Christmas and summer holidays and Good Friday. All our team leaders have completed food hygiene training, and we work hard to maintain the high standards required of any public caterer.

We have also catered for funeral teas, meetings, conferences and a variety of other private and social events.
